Campaign Text Messaging for Political Candidates
Congressman Darren Soto, seeking re-election in Florida’s 9th Congressional District, recognized the importance of reaching the Haitian community in his diverse constituency. As the first person of Puerto Rican descent elected to Congress from Florida, Soto understood the power of connecting with voters in their native language.
To bridge the language gap, Soto’s campaign hired our translation services to convert his key messages into Haitian Creole. This decision was based on the fact that only 5-10% of Haitians understand French, while all Haitians understand Haitian Creole.
Our team of native Haitian Creole speakers carefully translated Soto’s platform, focusing on economic development, infrastructure, and environmental protection. We ensured that complex political terms were accurately conveyed, respecting Haitian Creole’s unique grammar and avoiding literal translations that could lead to misunderstandings.
The result was a significant increase in engagement from the Haitian community, with more voters attending Soto’s events and expressing support for his candidacy. This targeted approach demonstrated Soto’s commitment to inclusivity and helped secure crucial votes from this important demographic.
